KARACHI: A senior citizen was found murdered on University Road, officials said on Thursday. Malik Mohammed Naveed (74) was found dead on the rooftop of Decent Apartments near Karachi University’s Shaikh Zayed Centre.

Mobina Town SHO Iftikhar Ahmed said he was stabbed to death.

The deceased was said to be emotionally disturbed. He lived on the roof of the multistorey building where unknown suspect(s) killed him on Wednesday night. The police recovered the knife used in the murder from the crime scene.

The officer said that the victim’s son, who runs a decoration shop, lives in a flat in the same apartment complex.

Missing woman found dead

A 75-year-old woman was found dead in Mochko area. Area SHO Wasim Ahmed said that the woman, identified as “Farm Jan”, had been missing from her residence in Ittehad Town since Dec 21. Her family had given ads in the media for her recovery.

She was found dead near Musharraf Colony. The body was decomposed, partially eaten by animals.
