ISLAMABAD: Director general of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Arif Ibrahim has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with an alleged corruption case relating to his earlier posting in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sources at PSB said that some officers of the NAB had summoned the DG to their office in connection with a case where he was arrested.

It is relevant to note here that former DG PSB Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera was also arrested by FIA last year for his alleged involvement in a corruption case. Ibrahim, who is joint secretary at the Ministry of IPC, has been enjoying additional charge of DG PSB since the last one year.

A senior officer of PSB, while confirming the DG’s arrest, however said it had nothing to do with the affairs of PSB and Arif was arrested in connection with a case during his earlier posting in Gilgit-Baltistan.
