KOHAT: The wildlife staff foiled an attempt of smuggling millions worth of falcons and other rare animals from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Karachi near Kohat friendship tunnel on Monday.

Regional director wildlife Abdul Samad told mediapersons that he got information that an attempt would be made to smuggle rare animals and birds to Karachi. He constituted a party which, during checking of a Karachi-bound bus, recovered the animals and birds, including nine falcons, black and grey francolins, nine monkeys and 20 chakors.

A case had been registered against smuggler who did not show up during recovery of the birds and animals.
