PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department has surrendered services of Kamran Ahmed Afridi, provincial coordinator Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for polio, and has assigned additional charge of the post to Dr Mohammad Saleem, director expanded programme on immunisation, a notification issued here on Tuesday said.

Mr Afridi, a BPS-19 officer, additional secretary P&D in merged districts, was posted coordinator EOC in December 2018, but his services have been surrendered to the chief secretary office.

The notification said that his services had been replaced upon approval of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

A summary with three names would be sent to the chief minister within two weeks to appoint a person to the position, it said.

Dr Saleem, director expanded programme on immunisation, has been asked to hold additional charge of EOC coordinator till further orders.

The establishment department has been requested to terminate deputation of Kamran Afridi and assign additional charge of the post to Dr Saleem, said the notification signed by secretary health Dr Syed Farooq Jamil.
