KARACHI: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested eight suspects, including three women, for allegedly supplying drugs to youths in the city’s affluent areas.

SSP-South Sheeraz Nazeer said that acting on a tip-off, the police arrested ringleader Shah Nawaz, Shahrukh, Zahid alias Zaibi, Mohammed Ahsan, Malik Noman, Nadia alias Aleeza, Asma and Sana.

The police claimed to have seized over six kilograms of hashish, 20 grams of ice, five pistols and four stolen cars from them.

During initial investigations, the held suspects revealed that they had stolen more than 15 cars from Clifton, Defence and other areas and handed them over to Matiur Rehman and Khalid in Wadh, Balochistan. They said that in return they gave them hashish, ice and cash.

The suspects brought drugs to Karachi from Balochistan and distributed them to students of schools and colleges in Defence, Clifton and other ‘posh areas’ of the city, added the SSP.
