LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has assured the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) of addressing its reservations on different matters and sought its full support for the passage of federal and provincial budgets.

Adviser to the prime minister Naemul Haq and chief minister’s adviser Shahbaz Gill on Tuesday called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, MNAs Moonis Elahi and Salik Hussain and sought their support in the passage of the federal budget. He also thanked Mr Elahi for glavanising the support of the lawyers on the issue of judges.

Mr Haq said after the passage of the budget the federal cabinet would be expanded and its ally parties be given important portfolios. He said the Akhtar Mengal’s party’s demands had been met and it would go along with the government.

He said there were no differences between the two coalition partners. “The opposition cannot succeed in its plan not to get the federal budget passed,” he said.

Sources said the PML-Q leader expressed his party’s reservations for not being accommodated and also on the issue of Bahawalpur province.

Mr Elahi gave his party’s assurance to the PTI leaders regarding its support for the passage of the federal budget and said: “There is no other choice except Prime Minister Imran Khan for taking the country forward. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar speaks less but works more. We fully support the government.”
