LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has accused the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf of politicising former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s health issue.

“Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry is oblivious to moral values as he spent his entire political career being an opportunist,” PML-N central spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in reaction to Mr Chaudhry’s presser about the issue of Mr Sharif’s cardiac treatment.

Ms Aurangzeb said the government’s “mental and moral shallowness” had once again been exposed. Nothing more than politics over the health and medical treatment of Mr Sharif could be expected from the Musharraf’s spokesperson, she said, referring to information minister’s press conference.

The directions regarding not allowing Maryam Nawaz to meet her father also came from Prime Minister Imran Khan. ”, she alleged.

She said premier Khan had nothing else to show to the people with regard to his performance, but his “inhuman vengeance” for Mr Sharif.

“Imran Niazi is dwarfed by the performance of Nawaz Sharif who is haunting and defeating the former even while sitting in jail,” she added.

“Fawad Chaudhry should tell the people that the GDP growth has plummeted to three per cent while inflation is skyrocketing at 8.5pc, besides increase in gas and electricity tariff.”
