KHAR: The anti-polio campaign has been conducted successfully in Bajaur tribal district despite harsh weather, an official of the health department said here on Thursday.

Talking to this correspondent, district surgeon Dr Wazir Khan said that the four-day anti-polio drive was launched on Monday across the district despite rain and snowfall. He said that despite heavy rain and snowfall the polio workers had successfully reached almost all areas and administered polio drops to the children.

The official said that following detection of six polio cases in the tribal district since November last year the health department had asked the polio teams to reach their respective areas despite rain and snowfall to make the current drive successful and productive.

The official claimed that the ongoing campaign would prove to be the most successful despite harsh weather.
