LANDI KOTAL: Unidentified gunmen killed a Khyber Khasadar Force official in Battathal market, adjacent to the Bara Bazaar on Saturday.

Sources said Baz Mohammad, who belonged to Zaodin, Zakhakhel tribe, was busy in shopping in the market when gunmen opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

They said that the reason behind his killing was stated to be a family dispute. He was also serving as driver to the tehsildar of Bara subdivision.

The gunmen managed to escape after the incident. The Khasadar force registered a case and started search for the assailants.

Meanwhile, at least two projectiles, fired from across the Afghan border, landed at a residential locality in Loe Shalman area of Landi Kotal tehsil on Saturday.

The projectiles did not cause any damage to life or property.
