PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party while welcoming release of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif said the court order had exposed the government’s so-called fair accountability process.

In separate statements on Friday, ANP central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain and senior leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said the government was victimising its political opponents in the name of accountability.

They said the government spokesman had threatened judiciary and NAB after release of Shahbaz Sharif by the Lahore High Court. Both the leaders said the high court had foiled the government’s attempt to use NAB as tool against its political rivals.

They demanded accountability of federal and provincial ministers.
