CHINIOT: The Saddar police have arrested a man six years after he killed his rival in Wazirabad.
Police said Ghulam Abbas, along with two other armed persons, shot dead Ahmad Yar at Chah Sarangwala, Mauza Asian, on March 12, 2013, over enmity.
He was declared a proclaimed offender and started work in a Wazirabad kiln as guard.
On the directions of District Police Officer Anwar Khatran, the Saddar police started work on old cases and tracked down Abbas.
RAPE ATTEMPT: Armed men on Tuesday allegedly tried to rape a nurse after abducting her in Satellite Town.
‘A’, a resident of Chak 129-JB, was coming out of a hospital where she worked as a nurse when Zeeshan, Ali, Faisal and an accomplice abducted her at gunpoint and tried to rape her.
According to the FIR, they left the woman unconscious on Sargodha Road.
The city police registered a case and launched raids to arrest the suspects.
