LANDI KOTAL: The Khasadar force on Sunday arrested three wanted kidnappers in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber tribal district.

Assistant line officer Ettehad Afridi said the arrests were made during a raid on the by-pass road on a tip-off. He said the three accused were wanted to local administration in a number of cases of kidnapping and robberies.

The arrested men belonging to Peshawar, Charsadda and Afghanistan were sent to Jamrud lock-up for further investigations.

Meanwhile, the weeklong all private schools sports gala ended at the Jamrud Sports Complex on Sunday. Senator Taj Mohammad Afridi was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.

The cricket final was won by Aims Public School team while the winning trophy in football final was lifted by Jamrud Model School. In volleyball, Islamia Public School defeated its rival school in the final.

Senator Taj Afridi distributed trophies and medals among the players of winning teams.

On the occasion, he said peace had now been restored in all the tribal districts and it was time the government released funds for development of the militancy-hit regions.

He demanded that the federal government give the tribal districts three per cent share in the NFC award in order to end deprivation of the tribal people.
