MUZAFFARABAD: A civilian and a uniformed official of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) lost their lives after their vehicle skidded off a link road in the upper belt of Neelum Valley amid heavy snowfall on Monday.

The driver was critically injured and shifted to Muzaffarabad, police said.

The accident occurred near Larri village along Athmuqam-Karen bypass which is being improved by the FWO.

A police official told Dawn from the area that Hawaldar Hafeezullah and civil surveyor Mohammad Zulfiqar were inspecting the site when their vehicle skidded and fell some 50 feet down the road amid heavy snowfall.

Both died on the spot, added the official.

The official said that vehicle driver Jahanzeb was critically injured and shifted to Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahayan Hospital Muzaffarabad in the evening.
