KARACHI: Mohammad Khalid starred with brilliant knock of 91 while spinners Bilal Gul and Azeem Ahmed shared nine wickets between them as Munawwar Sports defeated Mavericks CC by 44 runs in their KCCA Zone-I Challenge Cup T20 cricket tournament tie at the SBP Spots Complex here on Thursday.

Khalid struck eight fours and hoisted five sixes during his 57-ball innings to help Munawwar Sports post 176-7. Bilal then snared 5-11 and Azeem 4-33 as Mavericks CC were bowled out for 132 in 17 overs.

Mohammad Hussain CC, meanwhile, booked their quarter-final berth with a 21-run defeat of Pakistan Lovers CC at the same venue.
