PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced to provide smooth power supply to its consumers on the 9th and 10th of Muharram (Sept 20 and 21).

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, a crisis management cell has been established at the Wapda House, Peshawar, with instructions to deal with any emergency on the feeders supplying power to Imambargahs during 9th and 10th of Muharram. It said that the Pesco CEO was monitoring the performance of crisis management cell.

It was stated that necessary arrangements had been made to keep the supply smooth, as trolley-mounted transformers and other necessary equipment had been provided to all Pesco sub-divisions and complaint centres so that any emergency could be tackled promptly.

Meanwhile, the Pesco offered its condolences over the death of schoolchildren and a teacher because of electrocution in a private school in Kawai village of Mansehra.

The Pesco chief has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

POWER SUSPENSION: The Pesco has announced that power supply would remain suspended on Sept 23, 24 and 25 from five to six hours due to maintenance work on the transmission lines in Peshawar and some other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a statement issued here, the power supply will remain suspended in Peshawar from 7am to 12 noon, affecting the consumers of Nishtarabad, Hashtnagri, Chughulpura, NHA, Maulvi Jee, Gul Bahar, Lala, Jhagra, Shiekhabad, Kareempura, Chowk Yadgar, Dabgari, Shoba, Kaskshal, MES 1, Deans, HMC, Regi, Hayatabad 4 and 5, University Campus, Gulabad and Tajabad.

In DI Khan, the power supply will remain suspended from 8am to 2pm, resultantly consumers will be affected in city 1 and 2, Degree College, Town Hall, Qayyum Nagar, Baranabad and Muryali areas.

In Tank, the consumers of Tank city, Mulazai, Umer Adda and Kot Azam will face inconvenience. The power suspension will also affect consumers in parts of Swabi, Chakdara, Swat and Buner.
