ISLAMABAD: A resident of Sargodha complained to the capital police that she was raped by a man she had befriended on social media and who called her to the city telling her he will help her get a job.

She said she had met the man, belonging to Khushab, on social media and had made his acquaintance. He had reportedly told her to come to Islamabad for Independence Day and that he will help her get a job.

She said he directed her to a guest house in F-8 on Aug 14 where two rooms were booked for them, one for her and the other for her social media ‘friend’ and another man he introduced as his manager.

She told the police that they had gone into their respective rooms and that the two men had forced their way into her room later and locked it from inside.

She has accused the two men of forcing her to drink. She said the man who had invited her into the city raped her and that she escaped before the manager could.

She is then said to have called her cousin who lives in the city and went with him.

The woman stayed with her cousin while she recovered, and later approached the police with the complaint who then registered a case.

The Margalla police said a medical exam of the woman was conducted and the results were awaited.
