According to the weekly statement of position of all scheduled banks for the week ended July 13, 2018 deposits and other accounts of all scheduled banks stood at Rs12,606.769 billion after a 0.89 per cent decrease over the preceding week’s figure of Rs12,720.826bn. Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs11,685.139bn, the current week’s figure was higher by 7.88pc.
Deposits and other accounts of all commercial banks stood at Rs12,525.797bn against preceding week’s deposits of Rs12,649.706bn, showing a fall of 0.97pc. Deposits and other accounts of specialised banks stood at Rs80.972bn, higher by 13.85pc against previous week’s figure of Rs71.120bn.
Total assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs16,638.797bn, lower by 0.15pc over preceding week’s figure of Rs16,665.125bn. Current week’s figure is higher by 2.09pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs16,297.169bn.

Total assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs16,375.071bn, smaller by 0.20pc over previous week’s figure of Rs16,409.149bn, while total assets of specialised banks at Rs263.726bn were higher by 3.02pc over the previous week’s Rs255.976bn.
Gross advances of all scheduled banks stood at Rs7,300.008bn, higher by 0.09pc over the preceding week’s figure of Rs7,293.331bn. Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs6,072.443bn, current week’s figure is higher by 20.21pc.
Advances by all commercial banks increased to Rs7,127.987bn from previous week’s Rs7,121.987bn indicating a rise of 0.08pc, whereas advances of specialised banks stood at Rs172.021bn against previous week’s 171.344bn.
Borrowings by all scheduled banks showed a rise in the week under review. It rose by 5.24pc to Rs1,774.953bn against previous week’s Rs1,686.464bn. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs2,513.709bn, current week’s figure is smaller by 29.38pc.
Borrowings by commercial banks in the week at Rs1,680.125bn were higher by 5.56pc against previous week’s Rs1,591.604bn. Borrowings by specialised banks stood at Rs94.828bn against the previous week’s figure of Rs94.860bn.
Investments of all scheduled banks stood at Rs6,575.314bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs6,592.920bn, lower by 0.26pc. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs8,081.760bn, current week’s figure is smaller by 18.64pc.
Investments by all commercial banks stood at Rs6,521.178bn, lower by 0.36pc against preceding week’s figure of Rs6,545.214bn, whereas investment by all specialised banks stood at Rs54.135bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs47.706bn.
Cash and balances with treasury banks of all scheduled banks increased over the week and stood at Rs1,090.932bn against previous week’s Rs1,035.827bn, showing a rise of 5.31pc. Current week’s figure increased by 17.90pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs925.295bn.
Cash and balances of all commercial banks stood at Rs1,087.092bn, higher by 5.30pc over previous week’s Rs1,032.312bn. Cash and balances of all specialised banks were higher by 9.24pc at Rs3.840bn against the preceding week’s Rs3.515bn.
