RAWALPINDI: The PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif on Friday asked the jail administration to provide a list of those jail inmates who failed to pay fines and were undergoing imprisonment.

Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law were shifted to Adiala jail on July 13 and facing imprisonment in Avenfield Reference.

The jail officials told Dawn that former prime minister had started the charity work in the jail and sought the list of those inmates who failed to pay fines and had been imprisoned for many years.

They said that the water issue was brought in to the notice of the former prime minister and he expressed his willingness to install tubewell for the jail inmates from his own pocket.

Adiala jail Superintendent Saeedullah Gondal was not available for comments despite repeated attempts.
