MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar is no longer the convener for his party.

The Islamabad High Court today upheld the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) decision to remove Sattar as convener of MQM-P, which means Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui is officially to head the party.

Background: The ECP had removed Sattar from the position of MQM-P convener by accepting a challenge to his election filed by Siddiqui and Kanwar Naveed Jameel, leaders of MQM-P Bahadurabad, which is a rival faction to the Dr Sattar-led 'PIB group'.
