Three persons drown in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: Three people drowned in separate incidents at Sajikot picnic spot in Havelian area here on Thursday.

Two brothers — Asad Fareed, 17, and Ahsan Fareed, 16, — jumped into a small lake underneath a waterfall, but did not emerge on the surface. They were on a pleasure trip with family members to the famous picnic spot.

The locals said the deaths were 17th casualty at the same point in one year, but the district administration was taking no interest to ban bathing in the clean water lake.

Later, bodies were shifted to their native village in Bagh district of Azad Kashmir.

In the other incident, also occurred at Sajikot, Mohammad Abid, a resident of Daban Dalola village lost his life while swimming in a pool.
