According to sources, the police acted on a tip-off about the presence of a large number of explosives buried in the fields on Bannu-Dera Road.

Soon after receiving the information, the police and the bomb disposal squad personnel reached the spot and recovered at least 20 hand grenades which were buried in the fields with the intention of carrying out sabotage activities in the area.
