RAWALPINDI: Police brought back five Pakistani fugitives on Friday who were arrested by Interpol in Abu Dhabi after their red notices were issued by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Three more suspects wanted by police in Pakistan will be brought back to the country soon.

Led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Usman Haider from the Lahore police, a team of police travelled to Abu Dhabi to bring eight suspects to Pakistan. Five were brought back on Friday amid tight security.

All eight fugitives are wanted in criminal cases registered with the Punjab police, and one is also wanted in a terrorism-related case registered with the Kehror Pacca city police in the Lodhran district.

Sources said red notices were issued against the suspects between June and October 2017.
