The Senate's Standing Committee on Interior passed a resolution against recent incidents of terror in Balochistan on Friday.

The resolution said that the committee condemns the killing of DIG Hamid Shakeel, SP Muhammad Ilyas and three of his family members, and the 15 migrants found shot near Turbat.

It said that it is clear that India's RAW is involved in spreading terror in Balochistan and has set aside $500 million to fund terrorism in the province to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), an allegation first leveled this past week by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Zubair Mehmood Hayat.

The Senate urged the government to take up the issue of Indian involvement in Balochistan with the United Nations.

Religious parties protest in Faizabad

The chief commissioner of Islamabad also briefed the committee on the ongoing protest by Tahreek-i-labaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan and Sunni Tehreek at the Faizabad interchange, which has severely impacted the flow of traffic between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Senator Rehman Malik asked why the administration had not taken adequate steps to deal with the protesters and prevented them from camping at Faizabad even though they had prior knowledge of their arrival.

"Every citizen has the right to protest but creating trouble for the public is a crime," Senator Malik said. The protest should end by dialogue rather than than power, he added.
