KARACHI: A judicial magistrate remanded on Monday seven Indian fishermen, held for fishing in Pakistani waters, to prison.
The Maritime Security Agency had detained the fishermen, with their boat, for fishing in Pakistani territorial waters in the Arabian Sea. Later, they were handed over to police for legal action.
Police produced them before the court of a judicial magistrate (West) and the magistrate sent them to jail on 14-day judicial remand, directing the investigating officer to file the investigation report by the next hearing.
They were booked under Sections 3/4 of the Foreigners Act and 3/9 of the Fisheries Act at the Docks police station.
