LAKKI MARWAT: District Zakat committee chairman Maulana Asadullah Haqqani on Monday distributed certificates and cheques of financial assistance to 66 students on completion of a computer course at a local educational institution in Lakki city.

The six-month course was arranged under the technical education assistance programme of the zakat department.

Maulana Haqqani gave away a Rs16,000 cheque and course certificate to each student.

He said computer education was necessary for sustainable development and therefore, the zakat department was helping technical institutions offer free computer education to the students of poor and deserving families.
