RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has been directed to launch a crackdown on drivers involved in speeding and overloading on the Grand Trunk Road (G.T. Road) to check accidents.

Ia a directive to the police across the province, the additional inspector general of police, PHP, said the speed guns provided to the police to check traffic violations and speeding were not being used properly.

The AIG directed the police to initiate legal action against the delinquent drivers, violators of traffic rules to control the road accidents and to proceed for cancelation of their driving licences from the authorities concerned.

He directed the police to send daily report regarding action taken against the traffic violations.
