HYDERABAD: The Sindh government has released stipends of all postgraduate (PG) students enrolled with the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), and the raise will be given by the government.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the LUMHS spokesperson said that the Sindh chief minister had announced raising number of PGs who were paid by the university — paid slots — -from 276 to 500 and the university was trying to get the announcement implemented as early as possible.

“The case is pending approval with the provincial finance department. Hopefully, the paid slots will be increased in near future,” he said.

He said the university management discouraged agitation by the PGs as it had already made it a priority to fulfil their demand for stipend.
