PESHAWAR: NAB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday initiated inquiry against a former area sales manager of a multinational company for his alleged involvement in cheating public out of millions of rupees in the name of fake business.

A NAB spokesman said the inquiry was authorised directly on the basis of a complaint lodged by 21 complainants against Jamal Khan Khattak, Nestle Pakistan’s former area sales manager for Peshawar.

The accused collected millions of rupees from public in the name of different investment schemes of the company. He provided fake documentation, agreements and business schemes to the people, depriving them of millions of rupees. The accused paid profit to the affected people for some time, but stopped it afterwards and disappeared from the scene without paying them the principle amount or profit.

It merits a mention here that the affected people had deposited the money to the company account through bank drafts and cheques as well as paid the money to the accused through different means.

However, when they approached the company, the people discovered that the business of the accused had no affiliation with the company.

The NAB spokesman said that any person who had any claims against the accused person should submit their claims with relevant documents to NAB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
