Quetta Gladiators may have lost the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Islamabad United last year, but Captain Sarfraz Ahmed is confident that his team will take the top slot in the upcoming tournament.

"To be honest, I really like the new trophy and after seeing the glittering trophy, my resolve to do well in the league has increased even more," he said in a video message released to media outlets on Monday.

"We have a couple of days to go till our first match. Meanwhile, we are targeting to achieve unity and cohesion in the side like last year and looking to make a better contribution," he said.

On the bowling side, Sarfraz Ahmed said he will be relying largely on England speedster Tymal Mills. He introduced Mills as "the most dangerous bowler for batsmen to handle" during the PSL.

"Being a captain, I am really happy that a speedster like him is in the squad."

Sarfaraz said he is also satisfied with his batting resources and said the new inclusions to his side would strengthen the Quetta Gladtiors' middle order.

"We have Thisara Perera and Rilee Rossouw in the middle order, and these two inclusions will give us a good team balance," he added.

Sarfraz said he also has high hopes from the youngsters Noor Ali and Hassaan Khan, who were selected in the squad's emerging player category.

"Noor and Hassaan are both talented, but Hassaan is going to draw attention in this year's PSL," he said.
