PPP Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday said he has ties with Anwar Majeed but did not comment on the cases registered against him.

A First Information Report was registered against Anwar Majeed at the Saddar police station Saturday night under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Speaking to journalists outside Mazar-i-Quaid, Zardari said, "There is no denial. We definitely have ties with Anwar sahab."

Zardari, when asked about a raid on Majeed's offices said the interior minister should be quizzed regarding the circumstances and motives behind the raid.

The Rangers carried out raids on the business offices of 'a close friend' of Zardari's on Friday.

The former president confirmed that any announcement regarding the PPP's four demands of the PML-N government would be made on Dec 27, the day of a scheduled long march earlier announced by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

PML-N leader and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday invited PPP leaders to discuss their four demands in parliament "instead of taking to the streets".

Pakistan Peoples Party has declared that the party would launch a protest campaign after Dec 27 if the PML-N government does not accept its four demands — about appointment of a full-fledged foreign minister, formation of a parliamentary committee on national security, passage of the opposition’s bill seeking investigation into the Panamagate issue and implementation of the resolution passed by a multiparty conference on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor held in May last year.
