SKARDU: Renowned mountaineer Hassan Sadpara was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Hargisa Shqthang Skardu on Tuesday evening.

Allama Shaikh Mohammad Hassan Jaffery led his funeral prayers.

The funeral was attended by Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Speaker Haji Fida Mohammad Nashad, former chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, GB council member Wazir Ikhlaque Hussain, Brigadier Mohammad Zubair, civil and army officials, relatives and hundreds of local people.

The body of the deceased climber was brought to Jaglot by road from Rawalpindi last night and from there it was shifted to Skardu through an army helicopter.
