Reacting to allegations of corruptions and kickbacks, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday dismissed the 'baseless accusations' and said he would file a Rs26 billion defamation lawsuit against PTI chief Imran Khan.

"I am going to file a defamation suit of worth Rs 26 billion and 54 crores against Imran in the court of law for his blatant lies & allegations," said Sharif in a tweet.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Punjab CM alleged that Imran Khan wanted to make CPEC controversial.

Shahbaz was determined to pursue his case against Imran Khan to its logical end.

Earlier today, PTI chairman Imran Khan had alleged that Javed Sadiq, a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin and executive director of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, had been acting as front-man of Shahbaz Sharif and made billions of rupees in commission.

He alleged that the businessman made huge commission in different projects undertaken by the N-League government.

"He has eaten Rs15 billion, and has an additional Rs26bn by now," Imran claimed. "He is Shahbaz Sharif's front-man. He takes money for Shahbaz Sharif," the PTI chief alleged.

The PTI chief waved a sheaf of papers which allegedly contained contract and consultancy details and said they would be shared with the media soon.

Imran said he would bring forth more proof of 'corruption' by Nov 2, the date set for the PTI's planned 'lockdown' of Islamabad.

However, Javed Sadiq while talking in a programme of GEO TV, refuted all the allegations levelled by the PTI chief. Sadiq stated that he had not been granted any tender or project by Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif.

"I know him [Shahbaz Sharif] since late 2008 and he never allotted me any tender or project," Sadiq asserted.

Sadiq revealed he was the working at the China-based 'China State Construction Engineering Corporation' and worked on various projects of his company with the government officials.

Sadiq, while telling the details of various projects of his company, said: "Investment for Multan-Sukkur motorway is pouring in from China, while the Arfa Karim IT Tower project dates back to Pervaiz Elahi reign in Punjab."
