ISLAMABAD: AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has condemned Indian violations of ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and said that New Delhi has been making attempts to divert the attention of the international community form atrocities the occupation forces have been committing in held Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said Kashmir was an unresolved issue at the agenda of the UN Security Council and urged the world body to take appropriate action for solution of this lingering dispute.

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has forcefully highlighted the issue at the UN General Assembly after taking the Kashmiri leadership and All Parties Hurriyat Conference on board.

He said that the situation in India-held Kashmir was deteriorating day by day and Indian forces had unleashed worst repression upon Kashmiris. Mr Khan said that Pakistan and AJK leadership would continue their efforts to make world powers use their influence and exert pressure on India to stop human rights violations.

He said that during his visit to New York and Washington, he impressed upon the US authorities to play their role in resolving the Kashmir issue.

The AJK president said a fifth generation of Kashmiris had now owned the struggle for right to self-determination and their peaceful movement could not be suppressed through coercion.
