LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday deported a Filipina and imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on a foreign airlines for not checking her legal status before boarding her on the flight.

According to an FIA spokesman, a Filipina, Melanie Delos Santos, arrived here on a flight, EK-624, from Dubai. She was having Pakistani visa with double entries into the country which she had already availed.

“On her arrival here, she wanted to avail the permission for the third time. She was refused entry and sent back to Dubai on the flight, EK-625,” he said.

The official said a letter had been written to Emirates Airlines authorities asking the airlines to pay a fine to the tune of Rs500,000 for boarding an inadmissible passenger who was not having a valid Pakistani visa.
