ISLAMABAD: The Natio­nal Highway Authority (NHA) on Friday approved the award of Rs22 billion contract of a road project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to M/s Zahir Khan & Brothers.

Under the contract, the firm will build 63km road (package-5) of the 285km Hakla-D.I. Khan four-lane motorway.

A meeting of the executing board of the NHA, presided over by its chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar, also approved construction of five new bridges at different locations along the Gilgit-Skardu strategic road at a cost of Rs729 million.
