GHALANAI/KHAR: Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rahman has said that action against militants and their supporters in the tribal areas is in final stages, adding the region would soon be cleared from all sorts of terrorism and extremism.

He stated this during his visit to Mohmand Agency and DHQ Hospital Khar in Bajaur. The corps commander met injured persons and their attendants, says an ISPR statement issued here on Sunday.

He said that action against the anti-human elements and their supporters was in full swing while the forces had broken the back of militants.

Condemning the bomb blast at a mosque in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand Agency, the crops commander said that such cowardly attacks couldn’t weaken the security forces’ determination to rid the tribal areas of terrorism and extremism.

During his visit to DH hospital Khar, the crops commander was told about treatment facilities being provided to the wounded. He showed satisfaction over the treatment and care being offered to the wounded. He asked the local health department officials to continue their efforts to ensure best treatment facilities to the injured persons.

Senior officials of the security forces, local administration and local legislators accompanied the general. Inspector General Frontier Crops Maj-Gen Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood was also present.

In Mohmand Agency, Gen Rahman also met with the bereaved families and offered Fateha for the departed souls.
