LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami will discuss the current political situation, particularly the anti-government movements being launched, including the JI’s own, on Sept 23.

The party’s emir, Sirajul Haq, has summoned a meeting of the central consultative body (Shoora) for the purpose.

A press release issued on Monday said the three-day meeting would review the JI’s ‘Corruption-Free Pakistan’ campaign and the progress on Panama Leaks investigation.

It would also discuss the mechanism for an effective accountability of the plunderers of the national exchequer and recovery of the looted wealth from them.

It will be preceded by a meeting of the JI central working committee to be held at Mansoora on Sept 22.
