SIALKOT: A large number of people participated on Sunday in the first anniversary of the killing of seven people by Indian Border Security Force’s (BSF) mortar shelling on Kundanpur village of Sucheetgarh sector along the Working Boundary here.

A Quran khwani was held in the village and floral wreaths laid at the graves of those killed on this day a year ago.

BSF shelling in the village had killed seven people identified as Mehmood, Aslam, Tasleem, Ashraf, Shehzad, Waqas and Irshad Bibi.

Some locals protested against the alleged BSF hostilities in border villages here. They also shouted anti-India slogans.

On the other hand, some villagers expressed hope and wished for durable peace along the Working Boundary. They also prayed for peace between Pakistan and India.
