THE Khyber Pukhtoonkhuwa Public Service Commission conducted a screening test on Aug 21 for candidates who wanted to appear at the upcoming PMS examinations. The test was a very good example of management failure. The staff hired was not enough to manage the test.

The roll number slip issued by the KPPSC contained certain rules and regulations about the test, but none of these were followed either by the staff or the candidates. It was clearly mentioned on the slip that only candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centre, but no checks on the entry point was the cause of violation of this rule.

Second, they had mentioned that the candidates were only allowed to bring the original National Identity Card, the roll number slip, a clipboard and a black ballpoint pen. It was also clearly mentioned that bringing mobile phones and any other electronic device to the examination hall would lead to the cancellation of the candidate entry and the device would be consfiscated by the staff on duty.

Unfortunately, no one even bothered to check the ID cards and the roll number slips. There was not a single lady on duty to check female candidates. Every second candidate possessed a mobile phone which they were using openly before the test started, but no one took notice.

Mobile phones and 3G internet services were used during the test. Candidates have even uploaded the pictures of the examination sheets on the social media websites. This was a slap on the face of the KPPSC management. I would like Imran Khan and his government to take serious notice of the issue.
