Sui gas supply

Published August 29, 2016

ALL over the country we are using Sui gas one one way or the other, but what a misfortune that Balochistan, specially Dera Bugti, is without Sui gas. First Punjab and Sindh were supplied Sui gas, and after 60 years only 14 towns of Balochistan are getting this gas. The Sui town, only four miles from the gas discovery site, itself does not have gas. Here people are forced to use wood and coal as fuel and face numerous problems.

Quetta received gas supply as late as 1970. Then in 1990, Hub also got gas supply because it is full of industries. However, most cities of Balochistan are deprived of Sui gas and no one is interested in providing gas.

Balochistan Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal should make arrangements to provide gas to areas which have not yet been given this facility.
