CDA member transferred

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has removed Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member Administration Amer Ali Ahmed from his post, exacerbating the situation in the currently headless organisation.

The CDA chairman, Maroof Afzal, was removed by the government a few days ago, and Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Secretary Hasan Iqbal was given the additional charge of CDA chairman.

The CDA board consists of a chairman and six members. Three member posts – finance, environment and estate and land – have already been vacant for a significant period of time, and the offices have been looked after on an ad hoc basis.

On Thursday, the government also transferred the member administration to the Inter-Provincial Coordination ministry.

Sources said further changes are expected in the coming days, as CADD Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry is not satisfied with the performance of the incumbent CDA management.

The minister told Dawn: “The new chairman will be appointed soon, and all vacant posts of members will also be filled. I agree that the CDA could not deliver as expected, but now there will be visible change.”
