PARIS: Forward Alassane Plea scored in the fourth minute as Nice beat Angers 1-0 on Saturday to move level on six points with Lyon at the top of the Ligue 1.

Lyon beat Caen 2-0 on Friday thanks to a brace of penalties from in-form striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Toulouse moved above Monaco and up to third place, thanks to a resounding 4-1 win against Bordeaux in the Garonne derby with Danish international Martin Braithwaite scoring twice.

Earlier, Gabriel Boschilia’s strike gave Monaco a 1-0 win at Nantes despite coach Leonardo Jardim making wholesale changes ahead of their Champions League play-off, second leg against Villarreal on Tuesday.

There were also wins for Lille, Bastia and Rennes.
