LARKANA: Warah town remained shut on Friday in protest against arrest of three activists of the proscribed Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) and father and four brothers of an activist who was not present at home during a late evening raid on their residence on Thursday.

The JSMM workers identified as Mujeeb Cholyani, Fayyaz Cholyani and Kamran Kakipoto, and father of Sunny Kakipoto, Mohammad Qabil Kakipoto who was a surveyor in Public Health Department and his four other sons were whisked away to an unknown destination, said sources.

Warah town remained shut on Friday as JSMM activists led by Aamir Cholyani held a protest at Fazil Rahu chowk to condemn the arrests. They demanded immediate release of their comrades.

A large number of members of Kakipoto clan also held a protest against the raid outside the press club and accused police of having arrested not only Qabil who was also central president of Kakipota Welfare Association but also his four sons Jahangir, Shahid, Imran and Ahmed Khan.

Sabir Hussain Kakipoto, central information secretary of the association who led the protest, demanded immediate release of Qabil and his sons who, he said, had no affiliation with any political party.
