LAHORE: Islamabad captain Umar Gul on Friday roped in Shahid Afridi during the ongoing draft for the upcoming three week-long National T20 Cup.

The domestic T20 tournament is scheduled to be held from August 25 till September 16. The eight-team tournament will be played in Rawalpindi and Multan.

Afridi, who skippered Pakistan in the ICC World T20 earlier this year in India, will play under the captaincy of right-arm fast-bowler Gul.

Neglected left-arm fast-bowler Junaid Khan will also feature in Islamabad's line-up.

Pakistan's Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who is currently leading his side against England in England, will don Karachi Whites' colours.

The 42-year-old, who last played for Pakistan in the shorter format in 2012, will play under the captaincy of Akbar-ur-Rehman.

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal, who donned Islamabad United's colours in the first edition of Pakistan Super League earlier this year, will play for Karachi Blues.

The second phase of the draft will be conducted before the semi-final stage, when the players from Pakistan's One-Day International squad will be available.
