RAWALPINDI: Eight Afghan nationals who completed their sentences in the Adiala Central Jail were moved to the central prison in Peshawar on Sunday in order to be deported back to Afghanistan via Torkhum on road.

On March 19 of this year, 31-year-old Mohammad Javed was arrested by the Islamabad police under section 14 of the Foreign Act for illegally entering Pakistani territory and a court later ordered for him to be deported.

The Sadiqabad Police had arrested 25-year-old Moman Khan on May 4 of this year for the same offence and was sentenced to one month in prison by a judicial magistrate.

Habib Shah, 32 and Hazrat Noor, 24 were arrested by the Islamabad and Kalar Syedan police respectively under the same section of the same act and were ordered to be deported after three months in prison.

Jabbar Khan 23 and Sardar Khan 32 were arrested by the Kalar Syedan police on March 8, 2016 and were sentenced to three months imprisonmen for illegally entering into Pakistan.

Similarly, Noor Mohammad, 27 and Hashmat Ullah 28 were arrested by the Kohsar Police on June 4, 2016 and both were ordered to be deported by a judicial magistrate.

Under the National Action Plan, the biometric registration of more than 95,000 Afghans has been completed in Punjab so far, police sources said, adding that the biometric registration of Aghan nationals residing in Pakistan was started in January 2015.
