ISLAMABAD: A businessman reported to police that he had received a letter along with a bullet in which the sender had demanded money, police said here on Monday.

The businessman approached Tarnol police and lodged a complaint, they added.

He told police that a similar letter was thrown inside his home a few days ago, but it did not carry a bullet, police said, adding that the sender(s) had threatened him and his family with dire consequences.

Police said he reported the matter to the Ramna police station and, in response, SI Mohammad Shafiq was investigating the issue.

The letter was the second such message thrown inside his godown, police said, adding that the letter was in a plastic envelope along with a bullet from a 30-bore pistol.

When contacted, the victim refused to comment.

The Tarnol police confirmed that a case had been registered under PPC 387 and 506 and investigations were in progress.
