LAHORE: A passenger found worms in his food served to him during Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Kuala Lumpur-Lahore flight on Monday.

According to an official, the PIA crew served food to passengers of the flight en route to Lahore from Kuala Lumpur. During the flight, one of the passengers lodged a complaint with the crew that there were worms in the food served to him. Other passengers sitting nearby also refused to eat their food and protested against the national flag carrier. After disembarking from the plane, the passenger reported the matter to the PIA management also.

“We have taken notice of the complaint of the passenger and are taking up the matter with the Malaysian vendor who provided the meals,” a PIA spokesman said.

He said the airlines regretted what happened and apologised to the passenger for the inconvenience.

Earlier, there had been complaints about the serving of stale food in the PIA flights.
