OKARA: Two mill workers died and three received injuries after falling into the pulp tank of a paper mill on the Okara-Depalpur road on Thursday.

Five worker, including Imran, Ghulam Nabi, Shakil, and Farooq, were working near the pulp tank when they all fell into it.

Imran and Ghulam Nabi died in the tank while three others were injured. Rescue workers shifted the injured to the South City Hospital where doctors referred Shakil and Farooq to Lahore in a critical condition.

Saddar police registered a case against mill owner Rizwan Ahmad and labour contractor Nasir.

Muhammad Waris had a fight with his wife, Sajida Bibi, over some domestic issue and strangled her with a rope.

The suspect surrendered to the Saddar police.
