Tehzeeb Foundation has been doing a lot to promote and project classical music in the country for a considerable period of time. It has earned accolades nationwide, but on June 16 the foundation’s Sharif Awan was awarded a gold medal in the Global Music Awards (GMA) for his album Indus Raag — Music Beyond Borders.

The GMA are one of the most respected awards held in California, USA, and it is for the first time that a Pakistani album and its producer have featured in it. Congrats Awan sahib. Keep up the good work and keep those murkian and harkatein thrill music lovers.
