KARACHI: Two outsiders lowered the colours of fancied horses in a small four-event card of the Gymkhana race meeting that resumed at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Owner-trained filly Sonia Again created quite a stir by getting the better of filly Lovely Baby by a length-and-a-half to grab the second race as favourite bay horse Follow My Shadow had to be content with third place in a dead heat with colt Fantastic Boy.

Colt King’s Hand was withdrawn before the race leaving five horses in fray in the scale order VI, VII and VIII race run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

In a repeat performance, rider Zaki Zakir piloted another unknown pedigree bay filly Rainbow home by six lengths over filly Sania Power to land the fourth race which was also the day’s feature event.

Favourite bay horse Wild Wish settled third, beaten by distance while colt King Of Clifton completed the frame a length-and-a-quarter away among half-a-dozen horses.

At the outset, favourite dark bay filly Sweet Sereena obliged all and sundry registering five lengths victory over colt My One. Khush Naseeb and Ibn-e-Battuta followed the top two in same order.

Three-year-old chestnut filly So What made amends of the previous loss under rider M. Manzoor by imposing to a dazzling eight-length victory over Something Royal in the third race.

The Destroyer was placed third six lengths behind while Satisfy completed the board further 12 lengths away among six horses.
